THE BRIDGE NEVER BUILT: A photo-montage of the 1939 proposal by Robert Moses and Othmar Ammann for the Brooklyn-Battery Bridge. The controversial project, which would have disrupted views of Upper New York Bay and Lower Manhattan, was never built. Instead, the city settled for the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel under the bay.
